Chicago Public Transit: Trains

The Chicago Public Transit system can be confusing at first, but we hope to assist you in getting around the city here!

Tickets can be purchased using the Ventra app which you can download to your phone, or through ticket kiosks at L train stations. If you are accessing buses, you can tap your credit card or Apple Pay with your phone, or use a ticket or Ventra card.

Chicago Transit Authority has a great function that allows for a trip planner.

The closest L train station to the hotel is Harrison, via the Red line. Walk a little further northwest, and you will reach the Harold Washington Library, which has access to the Brown, Pink, Orange, and Purple lines. The LaSalle and Jackson stations for the Blue line (providing direct access to O’Hare International Airport) are also nearby.

Chicago’s CTA runs regularly with updates located on monitors throughout the stations. You can also access train schedules on the CTA’s website for more information.
